Cementitious thin bed adhesives are used to adhere ceramic tiles, to build walls of aerated concrete or lime stone bricks and to install exterior insulating finishing systems (EIFS).
They offer an easy and light workability, a high efficiency and guarantee a long durability.
Cement tile adhesives have to be easy to trowel. They must provide long embedding time, high slip resistance and sufficient adhesion strength. These properties can be influenced by Tylose® MC. Adhesives for block laying are used to build up walls of aerated concrete blocks, sand-lime bricks or standard bricks. EIFS adhesives ensure an excellent bond between substrate and insulating boards. Tylose MC improves the workability of EIFS adhesives and increases both adhesion and sag resistance.

Cost-effective tile adhesives
Cost effective tile adhesives contain only the absolutely necessary amount of MC and no RDP. They fulfil the adhesion requirements of a C1 tile adhesive according to ISO 13007 after initial storage and water immersion, but not after heat aging and freeze/thaw. The open time should be sufficient but is not specified.
Standard tile adhesives fulfil all tensile adhesion strength requirements of a C1 tile adhesive according to ISO 13007. Optional they can have an improved slip resistance (T) or an extended open time (E). Standard tile adhesives can be normal setting or fast setting (F).
Premium tile adhesives fulfil all tensile adhesion strength requirements of a C2 tile adhesive according to ISO 13007. They normally provide improved slip resistance (T), extended open time (E) and special deformable characteristics (S1 or S2). Premium tile adhesives can be normal setting or fast setting (F).
Aerated concrete block adhesives are used to build walls made from aerated concrete blocks, particularly polished lime sand bricks or clinkers. Constructing such walls creates only small joints so the progress of construction work is faster and more efficient with this modern adhesion technology.
The EIFS adhesive is a cementitious adhesive mortar to glue insulation boards made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), glass wool or mineral wool onto a substrate. The same mortar is often also used as composite or levelling mortar on top of the different boards with an alkaline resistant fibre mesh in it.
Fast-setting adhesives ("F"), which must have an adhesive strength of at least 0.5 N/mm² after 6 hours according to EN 12004, are increasingly being formulated with a ternary binder system with an emphasis on calcium aluminate cement. These adhesives can be used for both floor and wall application. For vertical application with slip resistance Tylose MHF 20011 P4 can be used without the need for additional layer silicates (clays).
Construction materials are optimised with the following properties of Tylose:
Water retention
Consistency control
Adhesion improvement
Stabilising of air pores
Improvement of workability
For dry mortars we offer modified and non-modified Tylose grades of both MHEC and MHPC.
Next area of application:
Cement based renders and trowelling compounds
Tylose® MC is an important additive ensuring there is sufficient water retention in renders and trowelling compounds. Additional advantages are better workability and an increase of the adhesion strength.
