For dry mortars, SE Tylose offers two powdered surfactants - Hostapur® OSB (registered trademark licensed by Clariant) and Tylovis EP 28.

Hostapur OSB is a strong air entraining agent, a wetting and a plastification agent for mineral-bound ready-mix plasters (machine and hand plasters), masonry mortar and renderings. The pronounced air entraining capability produced by Hostapur OSB enhances yield and reduces cracks caused by shrinking and stress. The surfactant also promotes wettability and dispersing action of the building material mixtures. It leads to lower stickiness and thus better workability and pumpability. Dosage should be between 0.005 – 0.03% related to the dry mixture.

Tylovis EP 28 has a dispersing effect, acts as plastifier and wetter and to some degree as an air entraining agent. Tylovis EP 28 improves workability for cement / cement-hydrated lime and gypsum based plasters, mortars and renderings. It also enhances elasticity and surface smoothness.  The addition of Tylovis EP 28 prolongs the final processing time for gypsum based mortars. Dosage should be between 0.01 – 0.03% related to the dry mixture.
