Under the registered trademark Tylose®, SE Tylose offers a protective colloid for emulsion polymerization and suspension polymerization based on cellulose ethers.
Protective colloids are water-soluble, high molecular compounds enhancing the stability of colloids. With colloid (colloid (gr.) Kolla = glue) structures, it is the areas in between individual molecules and compact solids.
Often, Tylose H-types (hydroxyethyl cellulose) with a low to medium viscosity level are used as protective colloids.
